Volunteer

Volunteers are critical to the success of Santa Barbara's only Pride festival.

The steering committee works hard year round with sponsors, donors, community leaders, and Pacific Pride Foundation, but we can only produce the festival and the many fundraisers it takes to put it on with the help of supportive volunteers. Local Pride events are more relevant today than ever given the increased focus on the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered communities in recent years---particularly in California---and we need your help more than ever to make sure that Santa Barbara's Pride event flourishes.

Some of the 2008 beer tent volunteers pose for the camera.

Volunteers at past pride events have taken on such tasks as staffing various areas of the festival grounds, traveling to regional Pride festivals to promote Santa Barbara's event during the months leading up to July, decorating the festival grounds with balloon arches and flyers, directing vendors to their booths, and serving refreshments to festivalgoers.

Consider donating some of you time or talents to make a positive difference for Santa Barbarans, gay or straight alike. No volunteering offer is too large or too small!

Please e-mail Teresa at teresa@pacificpridefoundation.org or call her at 805-349-9947 to sign up.
